Michael’s Birthday Party is a fundraising event which takes place every November.
Whilst it may be named in celebration of Edinburgh Tennis coach Michael Millar’s birthday, the event is actually an afternoon of fun tennis games that bring junior and teenage tennis players from across Edinburgh together to raise money for a great cause.
In 2023, the event attracted more than 80 players and raised over £1800 for the Edinburgh Food Project.
This year the event will run for juniors and teenagers on Saturday 2nd November '24 and Saturday 9th November '24 respectively in the indoor tennis dome at Merchiston School which represents a fantastic opportunity to play in one of the best tennis facilities in Scotland.
In addition, the event will include an event for adult players on Saturday 9th November '24 featuring a fun, social doubles tournament.
There is no fee to join the event but players are encouraged to make a donation to the Edinburgh Food Project who we will be supporting during 2024 and beyond.
Finally, each event will finish with some delicious pizza from well known Edinburgh pizza restaurant Civerinos.
The event will be split in to three sessions as noted below with each featuring a combination of fun tennis games, a mini tournament and delicious pizza to suit the age and ability of the players.

The goal of our fundraising events is to bring tennis players together. So, if you're unsure where you or your players fit in, don't worry!
Simply provide as much information as you can about you or your player, including age and tennis experience, and we will advise on the correct session.

It's very eXciting for Michael to share his 21st birthday with all the eXcellent tennis players he teaches. As this event is his 21st, it's certain to be eXuberant and, hopefully, we can raise a Very large amount of money for the Edinburgh Food Project!
